The summer is coming to a close, and that means new lower hotel rates in Panama City Beach! Although it still feels like summer in Panama City, typical family vacation time is over. The beaches are still nice, the water is still warm, and all the Panama City Beach attractions are still going full steam ahead. With most kids back in school, the demand for hotels on the beach in Panama City is not as high, and that translates into discount hotel room rates. This month we've seen a hotel in PCB (Mainstay) even drop their nightly rate by $50! Two other bigger movers are the La Quinta and the Hampton Inn, both lowering their rates by about $40 a night. If you have young kids or if you are traveling singles, there may not be a better time to vacation in Panama City. To save money and plan your trip be sure to visit Panama City Beach Hotels Cheap.

Panama City Beaches Oil Free for July 4th

Oil Update Panama City Beach
As of today June 25th, Panama City Beach still remains relatively oil free. Scattered cases of small tar chips and balls have washed ashore in isolated beach areas. Clean up crews have been quick to act and the beaches 0f Panama City are looking fantastic as normal. Small amounts of tar balls are expected through out the remainder of the summer but as far as we can tell that may be the worst case for at least the near future. The threat of oil has caused Panama City Beach Hotels to discount their room rates deeply. If you are planning a last minute trip to the beach then consider Panama City Hotels Cheap for your affordable accommodations. Also be sure to check back often for Panama City Beach Oil Updates.

Oil Spill Update - Panama City Beach Florida

Panama City Beach Oil Update

Panama City Beach Oil Update: With the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico there is concern that the white beaches in Panama City Beach will be covered in oil. It appears that will not be the case. As of today the beaches in Panama City Beach are open and unaffected by the oil spill in the Gulf. If you are looking for a last minute vacation to PCB there has not been a better time to hit the beach than now. The beaches are open and because of the negative media Panama City Beach Hotels have dropped their rates to an all time summer low. There does not appear to be any serious threat to the beaches for the time being. As it progresses there is a chance that small tar balls may appear. If this does happen it is no real cause for concern. Tar balls are not dangerous and have no odor. You should be more concerned about stepping on a jelly fish or sharp rock than encountering a tar ball. If you have always wanted to stay in a Beachfront Hotel in Panama City Beach for an affordable rate consider a vacation to Panama City Beach. If the thought of oil is too much then consider visiting Jacksonville Beach. For more information and updates on oil in Panama City Beach be sure to check back often.
